Tamarindo Information

When you drive into Tamarindo, you will immediately notice the international flavor of the beach town. Catering the needs of surfers, adventurers, fishermen and everybody else who is looking for a place that offers everything you need from the best restaurants to post offices, to banks and medical clinics. Tamarindo is located between two national parks so nature can be found all around you.

The town is beautifully laid out with the main road running parallel to the beach. This makes for a wonderful walk with almost all ocean views. Another great aspect in town is its relatively forgiving terrain that allows for pedestrians to stroll from one shop to another without having to strain themselves while going up any hills. However, in case you don’t feel like walking, there are various levels of taxi services in town, from the professional «tourismo» vans to the small «San Jorge» taxi service. If you are looking to take a long ride outside of town, you will need an official taxi or a «tourismo» bus. However, if you don’t feel like walking home after a big meal, you can simply hop in a small taxi, pay a couple dollars, and make your way back to the hotel.
