Fish eyes and wine
In mid-May, the Crazy Monkey Bar and was transformed into a beautiful floral lounge, replete with tiki torches, and candles in the pool as the setting for the ¨Fish Eyes & Wine” party hosted by Waves Costa Rica, and open to the public. The party set the stage for professional surf photographers to share their work with the guests who imbibed on Sangria and various other wines.
Official Quiksilver photographer Tony Roberts served a dual role for the event. He not only acted as DJ Tuaniz spinning great music, but he kicked off the photo exhibition with a play-by-play of his own images which included, among other things, shots of Salsa Brava.
Fabrian Sanchez, who is the photographer for Costa Rica’s Circuito Nacional de Surf, took his turn narrating some of his work, providing sharp anecdotes for each and every photo.
Next up in the slide presentation were the photos of Agustín Muñoz, the editor of 7 Mares magazine. He was unable to attend “Fish Eyes & Wine” because he had to interview surf star Dane Reynolds for his magazine, but his work flashed on the screen for the rest of the evening.
Concluding the entertainment portion of the night was reggae singer Abyssnyh, who roused the crowd with his selection of songs.
Guests enjoyed the smooth vibe presented by the gentle music and surf art. Many of them partied on into the late hours of the night when the tiki torches burned way down low.
